https://www.wordclouds.com https://worditout.com/word-cloud/create Similarities and difference of each web site (tool generator): Word cloud allows you to pick what you want to choose with; changing the color first, adding text first, etc.  Word it out has you enter text first, then change the color and layout.  Both allow you to change the colors and shape of the cloud and the font.  Word cloud allows you to save the image on the you desktop right away. Word it out sends you can email. The content of the Word Cloud and how you would use it in your classroom: The first one is based on art (vocabulary in art, different art styles, different mediums and practices). I would hang this up in my classroom so students can see the different words associated with art, allowing them to become familiar with art terms and vocabulary. The second one is based on famous artists in art history. This would also be hung up in the classroom...

Logo Design

Image
Buy My Ugly Art: 1.) The process (thinking skills and ideas used in the creation of my logo): When I started at school, I had someone tell me my art was ugly. As I posted more stuff on social media, specially the blind contour used in the logo, people were asking to buy my art. Which is where Buy My Ugly Art came into play. I used the blind contour because it is my most known art piece which people know me by. I chose a simple design with hand drawn letters to enhance the idea of "ugly art." 2.) Most important discovery: Learning different things you can do with type and grouping things you draw so you can move them as a group. 3.) Tools used: The selection tool was my best friend for this project. I inserted a photo of the blind contour into illustrator, cropped it down, and moved it. I drew the letters for buy my ugly art and changed the line quality, and then grouped the letters together. I inserted my name and changed the font and used the warp tool to...

Marc Prensky

Based on the Marc Prensky Videos: 1. What do you think of the term: Digital Natives vs. Digital Immigrants? Digital natives are the generation who grow up on technology. Digital Immigrants are the older generations who are starting to get into technology in the later years of their life. 2. Where do you fit in? I think I am a digital native because I have grown up and advanced with technology. 3. In regards to the Digital Divide, how do you see it impacting education? I think more technology needs to be integrated into classroom due to the digital divide, and teaching things in the media and through social media could be beneficial. 4. What are the most interesting concepts Prensky presents? Why? I think in the digital native video it was interesting how Prensky said kids today would be bored in a lecture because that's not what they're used to. Today, things need to be more digitally engaged, and old school lectures are going to cut it anymore to keep students...

Kevin Tavin Video

1. What are the  three  (3) most interesting facts you learned from the lecture? and why are they interesting to you? 2. Discuss the role of an art educator in regards to visual culture. Is it important? Why or why not? 3. What do you think can you take away from this lecture and apply in your future classroom as an art educator? 1.) Three most interesting facts from the lecture:      1. Human experience is profoundly effected by images, new technology. This is interesting to me because it changes the way we see ourselves and the world without us realizing.     2. The term visual culture brings together the visual and culture. This was an interesting statement because I think many people see the visual and culture as separate without realizing how connected they are like "social studies."     3. Visual culture is the past and present coming together. Everything is there in your face, just in a different way. Which can cause con...

Digital Imagery

What is Digital Imagery... 1. How do digital images play a role in your day-to-day life?  Digital images are everywhere from school to work. Images are used everyday in classroom, whether it's in textbooks or in a presentation. As an art major, digital images are used all day and everyday in school which enhances the learning experience because being able to digitally see an image of a piece of art helps when talking about a piece.  2. In your personal life?  Social media rules the world, which makes it impossible to escape digital images. You can spend hours scrolling through just pictures on Instagram, and send images back and forth to friends on snap chat. I take a new picture(s) everyday on my iPhone and send them to people or post them online. 3. In the way you experience your world?   It's hard to image life with digital images.  Based on these articles... https://www.artinstitutes.edu/about/blog/picture-imperfect-digital-image-manipulat...

Photoshop Adobe TV Videos 2

Photoshop Tutorials: 1.) How do save and reuse a selection: I chose this video because when working you go through a lot of different ideas and tools. With this tool you can weigh your options and revisit old ideas to decide the best resolution for a photo. This will help me with the project because I can make a selection and save it for later in case I decide to make a change.  https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/how-to/save-reuse-selection.html?playlist=/ccx/v1/collection/product/photoshop/topics/selections-more/collection.ccx.js?ref=helpx.adobe.com 2.) Correct unwanted color cast: I selected this video because sometimes we really like a photo that isn't that best quality due to lighting. This will help me with my project because iPhone photos aren't always the best, and I'm not very good with taking photos in the right light.  https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/how-to/remove-unwanted-color-cast.html?playlist=/ccx/v1/collection/product/photoshop/topic...

Photoshop Adobe TV Videos 1

Important fact from each video I watched that will help me when using photoshop: 1.) Photoshop Workspace: You can change the layout of the workspace in photoshop to best fit your needs. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/how-to/introduction-work-area.html 2.) Photoshop Layers: You can add as many layers as you want and filter them or hide them as you're working. You can save each layer along the way. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/layer-basics.html 3.) Selections 101: Selection is one of the most important tools to know in photoshop. What you select is an isolated part of an image you choose to control and work on. CTRL D will get rid of a selection. You can reselect your most recent selection in the pulldown selection menu. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/atv/cs6-tutorials/selections-101.html 4.) Photoshop Filters: Smart objects option in filters drop down menu is useful, but not always. If not, duplicate layer before applying filter. You can select...
