Marc Prensky
Based on the Marc Prensky Videos:
1. What do you think of the term: Digital Natives vs. Digital Immigrants?
Digital natives are the generation who grow up on technology. Digital Immigrants are the older generations who are starting to get into technology in the later years of their life.
2. Where do you fit in?
I think I am a digital native because I have grown up and advanced with technology.
I think I am a digital native because I have grown up and advanced with technology.
3. In regards to the Digital Divide, how do you see it impacting education?
I think more technology needs to be integrated into classroom due to the digital divide, and teaching things in the media and through social media could be beneficial.

4. What are the most interesting concepts Prensky presents? Why?
I think in the digital native video it was interesting how Prensky said kids today would be bored in a lecture because that's not what they're used to. Today, things need to be more digitally engaged, and old school lectures are going to cut it anymore to keep students engaged in the classroom.

5. Is there anything Prensky presents that you are skeptical about? What is it and why do you think so?
"The child is the heart of the matter" is when you look into a kids eyes and see who they are, however Prensky said today the cookies on a computer know more about the kids than we do because students today are absorbed in technology. I don't think this has to do with technology, I think this has to do with teachers needing to update their styles. You can still get to the heart of a student without a computer between you. You just need to pay attention to their needs and interests.
6. Do you think technology is important in an art clasroom? Why or Why not?
Yes because kids now are growing up into technology, and toys now are all technological devices even for infants. I think it is important to integrate technology even into the art classroom, whether it's with digital and graphic design or showing the students how to make an art social page for themselves so that they can publish they're work publicly, because that is something that will have a greater influence on them as they grow up.

7. How do you imagine you will (or will not) incorporate technology in your classroom?
I think I will use technology to show and talk about artwork. I will allow the students to use technology to research things during class for projects. And will also like to use social media as a spot to show students how to professionally post about their art to create a following for their work.
