Observation Discussion 1

  • What types of observations did my peers make that were similar to mine? How and why are they similar?
  • What types of observations did my peers make that were different to mine?  How and why are they different?
  • Did you find the discussion with your peers of your observation experience helpful to you as a future art educator?
  • In your next observation hours to complete (for this class or others), will you view things differently? If no, why? If yes, why?

1.) Something similar from the observation of me and some of my peers was the ability of the teacher to control the room. Nobody talked about any behavioral issues, and a few people made comments on how they admired the teacher for controlling the class.
2.) Most of my peers observed more usage of technology in the classroom, such as computer labs, ipads, and 3D printers. However, the teach I observed didn't use technology often. She only used it to project dojo points and play music.
3.) Yes, the discussion was helpful because it gave me insights into different styles and what technology is available to other teachers and how they use it.
4.) I think I will notice more things and ask the teacher more questions about dynamics in the school, because after hearing what people said it made me wonder why some schools had certain things and others don't.
